Nananu, Tailevu with blood links to Kiribati, Wallis and Futuna. proud kailoma.

Angelo swears he has salt in his blood. A national swimming representative and a competitive Optimus and Hobbiecat sailor since the tender age of seven, there is little that Angelo has not seen out on the water.

Having grown up around boats and the sea, Te Mana o Te Moana was taken hook, line and sinker by this commercial fisherman, who admits he has never earned his bread, that was not related to the ocean.

A close family man, the Te Mana o Te Moana project is poised keep Angelo away from his loved ones at home for the longest length of time. But this is a sacrifice Angelo feels is worth its weight in gold, knowing that he can only further augment his case for ocean sustainability and conservation by being part of the project.

Angelo’s strong passion for the ocean and love for fishing seem to have to come full circle as he seeks to broaden his seafaring knowledge and advocate for healthier oceans.
