Natoakalau, Ovalau, Lomaiviti, vasu Lasakau, Bau, Tailevu.
A graduate Art and Physical Education Teacher from the Fiji Institute of Technology who put teaching on hold to focus on the development of basketball and youth work in her home based community of Raiwaqa.
A current National Basketball Representative who won Gold in Apia, Samoa 2007 and hopes to repeat the same in 2011. She has always had an interest in the Environment and the Ocean and hopes to play a more practical role in the protection of marine life and help raise the attention to the environmental issues that don’t get much attention.
“I feel as a Pacific islander it’s our responsibility to be the keepers of the ocean and its occupants”.
Her interest also in the Pacific history is what got her keenly interested in the Fiji Voyaging Society and its projects of traditional navigation and the rediscovery of Fijian culture, language and tradition and the relationships with other Pacific island countries.
Agnes appreciates the opportunity she has been given to sail on the Uto Ni Yalo and will cherish every moment.
